What it does
Conditional logic decides what a workflow does with each event. Not every order deserves a message to the sales team, and not every form submission belongs in your CRM — conditions are how a workflow tells them apart.
The logic steps
- If / Else — test a value and send the run down one of two branches.
- Switch — split a workflow several ways at once, one route per case, such as small, medium and large orders.
- Only continue if — a filter that quietly stops a run that does not qualify. A stopped run is not a failure; the execution still counts as a success.
- For each and Repeat — loop over a list of items, or repeat a set of steps.
How it works
A condition compares a value — usually a token from an earlier step, such as {{ trigger.order.total }} — against something you type, with operators like equals, contains or greater than. When the If step chooses a branch, the other branch is skipped rather than failed, so the run history shows exactly which path was taken.
In practice
An order is paid → a Switch on the total → orders over a threshold go to the person who handles large accounts, and everything else carries on as normal. Or: a form is submitted → only continue if the email address is filled in → create the CRM contact.
Details
If / Else, Only continue if and AND / OR rules are available on every plan, Free included. Switch, advanced comparisons and loops are on Personal and above. Plugins can register their own operators through the FlowWP SDK, and they then appear in If, Switch and Filter alongside the built-in ones.
