What it does
The visual workflow builder is where every FlowWP automation is made. Instead of writing a snippet, you place steps on a canvas and join them: a trigger that starts the workflow, the conditions that decide what happens, and the actions that do the work. The result reads like a diagram of the process, because it is one.
How it works
- A step library beside the canvas. Steps are grouped into integrations, apps and tools. Integrations for plugins that are not installed still appear, with a line saying what to install, so you can see what is possible before you set it up.
- Configure the step you select. Each step opens its own settings panel, and every value an earlier step produced is available from a picker instead of being typed from memory.
- Quick editing. Quick-add, duplicate and delete on hover, a one-click tidy-up that lays the graph out for you, and sticky notes for explaining a workflow to whoever edits it next.
- Nothing runs until you activate it. A new workflow is a draft. Build it, test it, change it — then press Activate. Deactivating stops it immediately.
In practice
A store that wants to hear about large orders drags in An order is paid, adds a Switch on the order total, and connects each route to an email or a Slack message. The whole rule is visible at a glance, and anyone on the team can see what it does without reading PHP.
Details
The builder is part of every plan, including Free, with no limit on how many workflows you build or how many steps each one has. Workflows are saved as versions, so a run that started before you edited a workflow finishes against the version it started with.
