Triggers and actions

What you can automate with MailPoet

Every step MailPoet adds to FlowWP, named and described as it appears in the editor, with the plan that includes it.

Triggers 4

Events in MailPoet that can start a workflow.

  • A subscriber joins a list

However they joined — a form, an import, or a workflow. MailPoet fires this only once they are confirmed, so a double opt-in list fires it when they click the link.

Actions 5

What a workflow can do in MailPoet.

  • Add or update a MailPoet subscriber

Matched by email. Optionally puts them on lists at the same time. Whether a new subscriber counts as confirmed is MailPoet’s own opt-in setting, not something this step can override.

Other steps 1

Checks, lookups and helpers that shape the data in between.

  • A subscriber is on a list

Use the False branch for “is not on it”. Leave the list blank to ask whether they are a subscriber at all.

Set it up

  1. 1Install and activate MailPoet on your WordPress site.
  2. 2FlowWP finds it and adds its steps to the step library. If MailPoet is missing, FlowWP says so instead of hiding them.
  3. 3Pick a MailPoet step in any workflow. Every value it passes on is in the token picker.

Where it runs

MailPoet steps run inside WordPress, on your own server. FlowWP only contacts an outside service when you add a connection to one or use a step that needs it.

Nothing runs until you activate a workflow, and every run is recorded step by step.

Put buyers of a download on a MailPoet list

When someone buys the download you choose, they join a list and get a tag, so you can write to that group later without building it by hand.

Confirm an RSVP and keep the list

Someone RSVPs, gets a confirmation with the date and the address, and joins a MailPoet list tagged as an attendee so you can write to them before the day.
